Someone say new brew? Let’s get Hazy!

How good is a fresh brew! We’re stoked to introduce you to the new member of the fam, Hazy As Hazy Pale Ale.

‘Hazy As’ joins our crew of core-range brews, bringing big tropical fruit vibes, along with a silky-smooth mouthfeel and balanced bitterness. Head brewer Ross Brown says Hazy As brings the juice!

“There’s passionfruit, pineapple, and papaya, along with grapefruit underneath all of that. There’s a lot of juiciness there, a really nice silky mouthfeel, and a bit of bitterness to back it all up.”

With a hop trifecta of Riwaka, Galaxy and Citra grabbing your attention early, the use of oats in the malt bill brings balance and serious drinkability.

“The hops are what really stand out. It’s the pick of the Pacific hops. We’ve got Riwaka, which is an amazing Kiwi hop, Galaxy from Australia and Citra from the US. The other important part of this beer is there are plenty of oats in there. We’ve used a combo of Oats, wheat, some pale malt and a little bit of Vienna in the malt bill. But I think the oats and wheat are really important in delivering that smooth and silky mouthfeel that it’s got going on.”

Hazy As is the first new release from Gage Roads, since opening our brewpub Gage Roads Freo. With a full brew-kit on site producing fresh froths for the venue, it gave the brew team an opportunity to get creative and test out new ideas.

“I think a big part of this beer is having Gage Roads Freo. It gave us a chance to experiment, dial recipes in and trial new ingredients. It’s the best opportunity I’ve had to do that in my time brewing.

“We had six brews down there and each went on tap with our Hazy series at Gage Roads Freo. So, it was a great opportunity to trial new ingredients, but get direct feedback from punters as well.”

Hazy As is our new year-long core range brew. Available on tap and in cans across WA now and coming to the east coast later in the year. See below for stockists.
