Lagers are easy to drink but tough to brew. As a brewer, there’s nothing to hide behind when you’re making a lager. Pipe Dreams is inspired by the traditional European style, so it has a nice light colour with traditional noble hop aromas and a light citrus zest over the top. It’s quite a delicate beer, but complex at the same time. There’s a little bit of malt sweetness to balance it out with a crisp, refreshing bitterness which is key to this beer style.

The brew journey

The brew team were really excited by the challenge of creating Pipe Dreams. The goal was to keep it simple, and brew a beer that was true to style and all natural. There’s nothing to hide behind with lagers, so processes and details had to be spot on.

We launched Pipe Dreams at Optus Stadium, to thirsty fans for footy’s return to crowds in 2020. It’s safe to say, it went down pretty well. Pipe Dreams is now available in can, bottle and on tap, right across the country.

The design was inspired by that first beach swim of summer. The sun’s shining, the water is calling, and there’s nothing more refreshing than that first dip.
