By the Sea with Michael Tartaglia

Grain, grain, grain. Welcome to our 21st instalment of our ‘By The Sea’ series – a unique, through the lens exploration of what’s driving Australia’s most talented young creatives.

This month we feature self proclaimed ‘dirty minimalist’, Michael Tartaglia – a film shooter with an exceptional understanding of poise, composition & timing. Like so many other creatives, Michael’s first shooter was a hand-me-down from his folks. Was it good? Nah, but it introduced him to the world of photography; serving its purpose perfectly. Young, ambitious & hungry for experience, Mike runs a mag (Foolish), documents surf films (Desert Blue) & shoots for a swag of cool brands. Always seeking the unique, he strives to capture his subjects & surrounds in a way that may evade the eyes of others – a desirable trait for any photographer to possess.

Take a deep dive into more of Michael’s work here.

All hail King Neptune.
